Bless You

Good morning! You made it to the weekend! It’s the first Friday of 2022 and isn’t that reason enough to celebrate? Oh yeah, I am celebrating that my Covid test was negative. I would do a happy dance but my chest is still has a bit of a tickle. Sadly, I have been reading posts from family and friends and it seems many of us were sick or coming down with something last week as cold and flu bugs are running wild along with their cousin, Omicron. To any one infected with what ever bug, I pray that you get through this with little issues. If I could make a pot of chicken noodle soup to make the world feel better, I would. Now keep washing those hands and covering those sneezes, please. Thank you!

In the past few days I have been hanging out in the studio and working on paintings. Truthfully, this is the warmest room in the house and I am able to open the sliding door to get fresh air. Also, I have spent more time than I will admit trying to get Photoshop to load. I have seen way too many Youtube videos on how to fix my issue and still nothing works. Photoshop does offer Photoshop Express but it has very limited editing tools and I can only load one photo at a time, ugh! What really sucks is trying to upload RAW shots. It takes about two minutes to upload one photo and there were a few concerts that I shot in RAW. Also, I was able to finally edit some of the video from the last time that Hubby played. Below is one of the videos from that night.

Welcome back guitarist Kirk.

They, the Ghosts of Kelso will be playing at the Desert Sands RV Park in Desert Hot Springs next week for a social hour that the resort hosts. 2019 was a rough year for me, photography-wise. My walking kept me from shooting the way I usually do and I had to take more photos from the sitting position. Below are photos from May 2019.

Lately, I have just been capturing video and not as many photos because of pain issues. I know that I could cut out a photo from the video but I think it is cheating and that is just me, no disrespect to photographers that do that practice to get the perfect shot. So, mostly, I have been slowly going through cards and video files again.

While looking for the above photos I located a Google album from a few years ago. In this album there are photos of the Goo Goo Dolls and many of the country bands that I used to stalk so I could take photos of them at a local casino.

This is a screen shot from that album. You can click on the photo above to see the album.

Next week, Maroon 5 and Brad Paisley will be here performing at the a local golf tournament that is held in La Quinta. The above photos of the Goo Goo Dolls were taken at that same tournament four years ago. In 2019, a few weeks before the surgery for Cauda Equina Syndrome, I saw Sammy Hagar there as well. This year, however, I will not be going although I would love to be in attendance. Am I afraid of the catching the virus and being in a crowd of singing music fans? You betcha!!! Trust me, the older I get, the worse colds and flus seem to be. No more acting like I am invincible. I don’t know what made me think of this old saying, about the one dying with the most toys being the winner, well no, that would make you dead, regardless of what you possessions you had. Sorry, feeling a little angsty this morning….okay so I know why I am feeling angsty. Last year, on January 6, I along with millions of Americans and even the world watched Free Dumb fighters march to the Capitol and stage a coup, a lame coup really. I still laugh at the people that broke into the Senate chambers and ran around like a group of over sugared teenagers not having a plan besides “Fucking shit up.” It was hard to not watch TV or hear the rhetoric from both sides of the fence yesterday but I stayed away from it as much as I could. It sickens me to know that there are still around 70 million people that thought that coup was okay and just. Why? Anyhow, that is all I will write on that subject. Time to refocus and think happy thoughts.

Well, dear reader, where ever you are, I hope that you stay safe and well and virus free. May your weekend be relaxing and if you are traveling may you get there safely. Peace.
