Good day world! You made it to January 26, 2022. The past few days have been relatively quiet as I have been working on a few art projects. It has been difficult to not rush through them. Sometimes, I don’t let the paint dry long enough and have messed up details that I may have spent hours on. Right now, I am waiting for a painting that I have been working on to dry so I can add a clear coat along with a few sparklies.
We saw Sarah perform a few weeks ago in Indio at the Take Center Stage event. As soon as I saw her on the stage, I was instantly drawn to the mane of brilliant and fiery red hair. Her hair almost touched her waist. Anyhow, I took a few videos of her performances and then started studying them. It was a slow process but I clipped a few shots from the videos and then formed a picture in my head. Gold Dust Woman came on sometime during the process and I used it as inspiration for the painting. It is going to look great in our studio! So excited! (showing all teeth!)
You can probably see what clip I used as inspiration. I am planning on doing one using her photos where she is playing guitar. Oh, I mentioned her hair, as it captured my attention. Instantly, I had a vision of her in 50s clothing, in front of a golden era mic and with Big Texas Hair! I think the drummers kit may have some to do with that as it is a compact kit that reminds me of honkey tonks and old country. Now to get the nerve up to ask…uhhh….
Also, I worked on a few things that I picked up at the craft store for Valentine’s Day. When the paint is drying on one project I move to the next and so on and so forth.
I did spend more time downstairs yesterday and did not work on projects as much as I would have liked. Why? My arm hurt and this is me being a little of a cry baby. I finally got my booster! Yay. I would raise my left arm in victory but, really, it aches. I mentioned to Hubby that it feels like someone gave me a “Monkey Bump”. For those of you that did not spend time on the play grounds trying to “Keep up with the boys” a monkey bump or whatever it was called is when someone hits you in the arm once or several times until your muscle starts twitching. My sister Denise loved tormenting me with those. Anyhow, that is exactly how my arm feels, other than that, I feel fantastic, especially since I have increased my chances of a better outcome should I ever test positive for Covid.
Before I get back to painting, I wanted to share a few of the photos I took on Monday morning while Hubby and I were out for a drive. We left our house around 5 AM as I wanted to see the sunrise. We headed toward Thousand Palms and parked for a bit. It was nice watching the twinkling lights in the distance and seeing the stars and moon overhead.
We had parked just up the road from Agua Caliente Casino. You can see it in the distance. He headed East after a few minutes as I wanted to try and catch the sun as it peaked over the mountains. Hubby drove down Dillon Rd and then pulled over so I could set up my Iphone.
The Eastern sky was glowing a fiery orange. Along the road, cars passed, probably on their way to work for that morning.
We parked there for about 10 minutes and continued East. I love Dillon Rd as it feels like a roller coaster in some spots. The best thing was that on that morning, the sky clear and the Salton Sea could be seen with the unaided eye.
It really was such a great morning. There is nothing like pouring coffee into our insulated cups and heading out the door for a drive. As I have mentioned, there are 330 miles to cover in the Coachella Valley and Hubby and I have only seen a few things of sights this area has to offer.
Time to work on my projects and such. It really is such a nice morning, it is 63 degrees right now and just perfect for going out to work in the garden.
Thank you, dear reader, for visiting. May today be the day that something good happens, like you find bottom fries or you get a free taco in your order. Hugs to you and you and especially YOU.
