Shadows and light

Hello out there neighbors! How are you today? You made it to April 5, 2022. Here in the Coachella Valley, high temps are sneaking in reminders that Summer 2022 is almost here. In the CV, it (Summer) actually starts a full month before the official start. Lately, though, the weather has been perfect and I, well, actually both Hubby and I have been spending more time outdoors working on sprucing up the place. My vision is to create a little place of peace to enjoy sunsets and sunrises in my PJs. We hung out around our place most of this weekend, accept for a few little drives here and there.

Coachella Valley is rich in farm and agriculture. I love farm equipment for some reason and dream of operating a back hoe or excavator. This was photographed on Varner Rd in Indio.

Yesterday Hubby and I took a short drive to the Palm Desert Civic Center Park to take a walk as I have been trying to walk farther and farther everyday. My pedometer on my phone has been keeping me in check. So far, I have been averaging 2.5 miles a day and I have noticed that it is getting easier to walk up stairs. Anyhow, he suggested the park and I said “Okay!” as I wanted to see the turtles!

Those turtles living their best turtle life.

The park has many different scenes to view. There is pond in the park that has two bridges to walk over. Hubby and guys have played a few here as well as there is also an amphitheater. One of the cool things is that there is a cool sculpture of a boy lying in the grass.

Squinting.

Not far from this sculpture we saw more sculptures that I had never noticed before and headed over that way.

Desert Holocaust Memorial located in the Palm Desert Civic Center Park.

I stood in front of the entrance and took a few deep breaths. You see, I had been busy trying to forget and not see what is going on in Ukraine but I see it and it affects me. How could it not? Seeing the sculptures created by Dee Clements brought a rush of emotions. I tried to focus on some of the words that were written describing what we were seeing and honestly, my eyes were glossy with watery stuff. Most of those photos were blurry.

Never again…

The sculptures are breathtaking and the detail is exquisite. I marveled over his use of light in this spot and how the shadows told theirs own stories.

The lights have their own story.

I will never forget what happened and I hope you will not either. If you are ever in Palm Desert Do check out the Holocaust Memorial.

Next, we headed over to another sculpture in the park. This one was being watered at that moment .

Taurus season…

Before we left, I stopped to get a few shots of the water fowl. I am not sure if these are storks or what?

It was just what I needed, that walk around the park. Do check out the park if you are in the area.

Tonight, we are heading over the hill to Joshua Tree to visit Pappy n’ Harriet’s as Carolyn Rose will be performing tonight and I can’t wait. Her songs just make me happy and want to dance or hop around or laugh. Before I go, here is a sample of her and what I will be experiencing tonight as an over grown teenage music geek. If you are going tonight, have fun!

The teenager that lives in me is super excited!!!!

Thank you, dear reader, for visiting. Where ever you are today, I wish you peace. Where ever you are going, may you get there safely. Hugs…

2.5 miles per a day is incredible! Keep going, before the lands get heated more for angry sun streaming to California!😂 Also enjoy the show tonight, Michelle👍💕✨

You are right! The angry heat will be here and it will be too hot to even walk the morning.

      I can’t wait for tonight 😁
