Melted

Hello and good morning out there! You made it to see another Sunday. It is July 24, 2022, and it’s hot here in the CV as well as most of the United States. Elected officials can’t get it together, you know, it’s too hard to work when fingers are pointing but Mother Nature has had other plans. Hopefully, she gets tired of roasting all of us and will send relief. Maybe this is her way of making us all work together.

The artwork of the Salton Sea.

Yesterday, Hubby and I took a much need drive as the high temperatures have been keeping us indoors for the past week. Before we headed out the door, Hubby had saw that there was rain in the Salton Sea area, so around 7 AM, we headed toward the North Shore where Bombay Beach is located. Along the way, the sky would spit drops of rain.

Although it looks cold at the moment this photo was taken, it was already over 90 degrees F.

The light rain fell for a few minutes before stopping. The above photo was taken at one of the State campgrounds in North Shore. We decided to walk as far as we could to the water. The shore is covered in fish bones and honestly, looks like an alien landscape.

The past week has been rough. Not only did I have that fall, but Hubby was not feeling well. Add the heat to this scenario and nerves were frayed. Mostly my nerves. I know that this is the heat, and we will get through it as we have in the past 8 years. I know it is hard for Hubby to understand that I had a full life before we got together. I used to drive everywhere and anywhere I could, never having to ask permission. Now I ask him if we can do things and such, not really for permission, just out of respect. Anyhow, he snapped at me a few times in the past week. I had to keep telling myself it is the heat, and he is not feeling well. Thank goodness that I have kept up the with swimming as it is great for getting out frustrations. Truthfully, it only took a half hour for my bad feelings to dissipate as I was oohing and aahing about the landscape and the rain! You see, Hubby knows me well, and knew that our little road trip was just what I needed, what we needed.

Next, we headed to Bombay Beach. It had been a while since we were last here. It is an artistic, wasteland. We headed south toward the entrance to the beach parking area. Parking area is a bit of a stretch. There are several art installations that I had not seen before, and Hubby drove me as close to it as the car would allow. The sand is very soft and bumpy and did not want to get stuck. I hopped out of the car ad headed to get a closer look at the swing,

Ugh! This photo was shot with a 50mm prime lens that needs a cleaning!! Those are dust spots, not UFOs.

I noticed that walking has been much easier for me. My legs feel stronger and not so heavy. Hubby sat in the car while I took pics of the art pieces in the water.

I had finally had enough and headed back to the car. I was dripping in sweat. Hubby drove us out of that area and we headed back to Highway 111. As we were driving down this one street, I noticed some graffiti art of an artist that I follow on IG.

I knew those creatures as soon as I saw the robots! That is @la_tsar. Funny, but just realized that this is a female graffiti artist. Very cool!

Below are more shots of the Bombay Beach artwork.

Not much else happened in my immediate world. I am just glad I have not melted. Speaking of melting, here is a little song to end this post.

Thank you, dear reader, for visiting! I hope that the sun is being kind over your head. Wherever you may be going this week, I hope you arrive safely! Peace.

Wow that beach artwalk! I prefer this bombay beach one than the one in Venice beach because it’s just too hard not to bump into people!😂 The beach looks calm and nice…glad to know that you had such an relaxing time🤩

Cute pictures of the two of you. Out of all the pictures the ones of you and Mr. “Hubby” were the best.
