Doodle-ly Doo

Good day or evening wherever in the world you may be. You made it to the last day of September 2022. Fall has arrived here in the Coachella Valley, sort of, I guess. Summer is still fighting for attention, at least here in the valley. The morning temps have been cool, before the stuffy heat of the afternoon. Speaking of September, here is a September song that reminds me of my parents. They both liked Neil Diamond and as a young kid, I think I used to know all of his hits by heart and would often sing along with them when they played on the radio. Please press play.

I may have had a crush on him when I was a kid…That voice and those dreamy eyes.

September 2022 has been eventful. It started out with the lingering news of the big cheese and his inappropriate handling of top-secret government documents. Then more blah blah blah about him and his family. How much more can this 74-year-old ass gasket get away with? Then the Queen closed her eyes for the last time and then her body took a ten day “farewell” tour across the UK. My oldest son had visited a few weeks ago and I mentioned to him that I had changed my mind about my death arrangements. I said I will surely haunt them if they do not observe 10 days of mourning and a have huge parade down Figeroa, past the Staples Center (Crypto.com Arena) that ends at the Krispy Kremes on Artesia Blvd. Oooops, a girl can dream, right? Seriously, my kids, I am kidding and still want no funeral or service. I would rather my kids spend that money and time on being with each other and remembering the good and the bad times and everything in between with few dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and some good “stuff” (wink…wink).

October means the start of the 2022-23 NBA season!

Oh yeah, back to the September recap. Well, not much really happened in my world but lots of things have been happening everywhere else like every human that has been affected by the effects of Hurricane Ian. Cuba, Puerto Rico and Florida have been slammed. This morning, it has been reported Ian is now headed to the coast of South Carolina as a Cat 1 hurricane. I can’t and don’t want to imagine what all these humans are experiencing. Just like a broken record, I ask that if you can help in the efforts to help these humans, please donate to the Red Cross. Here is the link:

Red Cross: Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief _- This link will take you to the website and gives important information about the relief effort.

There are many relief funds out there as I did a Google search. There were too many to vet. I do know that the Red Cross very well as they helped my children and I after we had a fire at our house and our garage burned back in 2004. I will never forget the kindness that the RC worker showed me and my family. They were a life saver! Anyhow, money, cash, moola, is the best thing to donate as these organizations use the money to pay for motels and shelter for displaced families. Take it from me, being able to take a hot shower and sleep in a smoke free environment for a few days was the thing that helped the most after that incident.

I love doodling! This is a doodle that started out because I was practicing drawing faces. Did you know that doodling can relieve stress?

I hardly blogged or even hung out in WordPress land in the past month. Several times during the month, I would have a topic I wanted to write about so that I could look back at my history and how my life was at any given moment. However, I really would like to let this September fade quietly into the sunset. We had a few sticky moments this month, but we made it through. I have to remember that communication is the key to keeping any relationship alive. Sometimes, it is easy to forget for both Hubby and me. Sometimes we both do things that irritate each other and sometimes, we take each other for granted. Lucky for us, we like laughing and being silly more than we like arguing and confrontation and were able to right the ship as we sail into October. He and I have weathered 8 Coachella Valley summers, looking forward to many more.

We have some spectacular sunsets and sunrises.

In one of my last posts, I mentioned that I had a contest with myself to draw 30 in thirty days. Well, I did it! I will not post all the pictures here but will post one of my favorites that I drew, well maybe a few of the ones that I did.

This is a sketch of a photo from our wedding day. I tried to hide our anniversary date in it.
Working out a few ideas for Halloween sticker I want to send to the grandkids.
Those are a few of the paintings that I have been working on in the last week. I like to hang them on the wall to get a different perspective. Hope to finish these soon.
This one is almost done. I have changed it several times.

Time to get on with my day. Wherever you are, thank you for stopping by to visit. It is 8:15 AM this Friday morning and time for me to go. Hope to be back again sooner, than later…

Again, thanks for visiting and may you have a lovely day. Hugs.

I love the imagery of how youโ€™d like your funeral procession to go, especially when it ends at Krispy Kreme! ๐Ÿ˜‚
How did I not know you are a doodler?? Even your doodles are inspired, and now I want to do some of my own as it does seem like a fun way to combat stress.

๐Ÿ™‚ laughing, really. I too can see my kids having a parade to Krispy Kremes (I almost spit out my coffee). I just remembered I would be crispy…ha ha haha!!!

I never used to show my doodles as I feel like I have no talent. Besides, I doodled when I was stressed out, usually month-end, when I was working in accounting. There reports in different firms that I have worked at that have doodles on them.. I can only imagine what auditors mut think when they see them…ha ha ha : )

And I agree with the idea of not wanting funeral after death…having a dozen krispy creme donuts and looking back the memory is an amazing idea๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฉโค๏ธ
