Hello to you on this Tuesday, June 9, 2020. You made it and are alive to continue on this epic journey that we have all been on lately. The ratings must be amazing or wait, do they even matter anymore? I am going to continue being me and that means juvenile humor, lots of my 420 induced memories and music. From time to time my opinion is going to sneak out and that is okay as it is okay for every one to have an opinion. That is one of the beauties of this country our rights to speak freely. There has just been so much going on that it was hard to not speak out or write about it. Anyhow, I needed a break from everything and we took a ride out to the North Shore of Salton Sea and found that all entrances were closed. We did find a yacht club that was was “open” and drove in to get a closer look. As we were leaving, we noticed a Sheriff watching us to make sure we weren’t causing any trouble in that deserted marina. No worries, the smell peacefully got us out of the area in a hurry.

Actually, this past Sunday and Monday we drove around the Salton Sea. I would have Hubby pull the car over at random areas that piqued my interest.

Near the Salton Sea we stopped at this little canal so I could snap a few photos. I made it a quick stop as the scent was not flowery and the sign warned about mosquitoes.

Probably toxic but I couldn’t help but gaze at it. Those tires tho’
I see beauty here but really, it is dirty and probably not a great area to explore.

Here is a little Salton Sea song I found. I usually add songs to my IG stories and I added this one to a story I posted yesterday. Press play…

The bands name is Uncle Larry and love the funky beat.

Sunday, we headed out before 8 AM. I look forward to these little trips as you never know what you are going to see. We headed to the North Shore of Salton Sea, but as I mentioned, the recreation areas are all closed due to Covid-19. No worries as the skies were blue and the winds were angry that day and it made standing upright a little difficult.

We drove around till Hubby found an open gate to what looked like an abandoned marina. I happily got out of the car to take photos. If you are familiar with the Salton Sea then you are familiar with the aromas of the area. I cannot find words to describe the scent but I am not sure it was earthly. I didn’t notice it for the first few minutes until I got back into the car then, oh me-oh-my-oh…

He has the “Smell Face”
I tried to capture all the birds in that marina but like I said, it was windy.
I tried to get closer but again the wind was too strong.
The birds were having a hard time in the wind.

Before we headed home we drove out South East a few miles and pulled over so I could snap a few photos. There was a train on the Northbound side of Highway 111 as you can see in the driver side window.

Another obsession of mine…signs!
The Salton Sea seemed fuller than it had in the past trips. Again, you can hear the wind.

If it hadn’t been around 90 degrees when we pulled over I would have believed that I was looking at the actual ocean and not the Salton Sea. There were small waves crashing along the shore. Again, the smell was also a little inconvenient. Really, after a few minutes, you hardly notice. After I got into the car we made a U-turn and then headed home. It was a nice little trip and just what I needed to get rid of a little cabin fever.

If you are planning a trip out to the Salton Sea be sure to check California website for state parks and check Salton Sea as there are closures that are non-pandemic related as well as pandemic related closures.

Thank you, dear reader for the visit. Where ever you are going may you get there safely. Hugs…

Garlic truck? I swear I wasn’t on the truck. πŸ˜€ Jajaja.

The train photo is amazing. Every time I see such photo, I remember the song King of the Road. I wonder what its like to hop on the train and ride it through the desert.

    1. HA HA HA! We are having a garlic shortage, or so they say. Not sure how and why we can’t get it at our market but seeing that full truck of garlic made me excited! There is nothing better than fresh garlic.

One of my favorite songs! Pat Boone did such a great rendition of it. I have sung that song in karaoke a few times. I have always wanted to take a train trip across America. Also, I need and want to go to Japan, I hear they have a Hello Kitty train and I must ride on it if that is still there πŸ™‚

Have a great evening an be well πŸ™‚

Yes, garlic is the best. I can’t imagine the world without garlic. πŸ˜€

My favorite is the Roger Miller version. I heard it the first time in 2007 when I watched Into the Wild. I can imagine the road everytime I hear the song. πŸ™‚

No way! They have a Hello Kitty train? It must be really cute. Hahaha. πŸ˜€

Stay safe there! Have a wonderful day. πŸ™‚

      2. Ajo! Ha ha! Yeah, I have not had a fresh clove of garlic in a couple of months. Not complaining cause Hubby brought home peeled garlic and its all cleaned up, but I like roasting a whole clove and then using the the soft garlic like butter…sorry, I have the munchies…:)

That is the best version, EVER! Yeah, I think of that song when we are on the road. I still have not seen that movie. Another one I will need to check out.

Yes way! I love her, I mean Hello Kitty! I think that is why I have a thing for glitter and the color pink. The train is near Kyoto and is a bullet train! Here is link about it.

Japan is a place on my bucket list. I would love to spend a month or longer if I ever get a chance. Hubby, not his ideal trip.

Have a great day and be safe and well.

Really?! I hope the shortage won’t last long. It’s hard to imagine life without a fresh clove of garlic. πŸ˜€

It’s one of my favorites. And I haven’t seen it for a really really long time. πŸ˜€

Some people love Hello Kitty too here. I’ve seen many cars painted pink with the picture of Hello Kitty on the hood of the car or on the bumper. πŸ˜€ Wow! They do have it! I’m curious. πŸ˜€

Japan is only one transit away from CA, isn’t it? πŸ™‚

You too! Stay safe there, M. πŸ™‚

      4. It is one of my favorites too! I used to eat it so much a girlfriend back in the day told me to cut back because it was radiating from my body like perfume. HA HA!!! πŸ™‚ This one Middle Eastern restaurant used to have this garlic sauce that I just wanted to drink. I used to order it by the pint and put it on everything like ketchup! HA HA!! I don’t think Hubby would like that. πŸ™‚

I have loved her since I got a sticker at party in my youth. She was a cat and so girly. I have had wallets, and shirts and have bought lots of McDonalds Happy Meals just to get HK toys. I am just a big kid really πŸ™‚

Yes, One flight. Maybe I can do it without Hubby. Going to Japan is not his thing.

It is naturally tasty. πŸ˜€ Garlic sauce? I need to find it! Haha.

Hello Kitty is cute tho. You have HK toys at McDonalds? Wow. πŸ˜€ Me too, M. I’m just a kid trapped in an adult body. πŸ˜€

Hm… Perhaps after listening to the Blue Hearts he wants to go to Japan as well.. πŸ˜€
